I am not sure that this is true either.

To clarify, if Einstein even wrote that, he simply did not mean the
cross/*vector* product as he *knew* (because by contrast to his critics here
he did study Physics at a university) that mass is *scalar* quantity. This
is just another example of the Dunning–Kruger effect where the incompetent
(Thomas Heger, and probably you) have a cognitive bias that causes them to
underestimate the competence of others/experts (Albert Einstein):

<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunning%E2%80%93Kruger_effect>

“×” is standardized as the Unicode character U+00D7 MULTIPLICATION SIGN, and
although writing the operator for the scalar/standard product as U+00B7
MIDDLE DOT „·“ or (preferred in Unicode) U+22C5 DOT OPERATOR „⋅“, and that
for the vector product as „ד, in German-speaking mathematics (which I know
Thomas Heger is familiar with, although only superficially), given the
understanding of „ד in English-speaking primary school mathematics, it is
quite possible that this is a newer development.

The officer asks him "Do you know how fast you were going?"
Heisenberg replies "No, but I know where I am."
