Hi,

"Long Covid" and "Covid 19" trending on Twitter.
They have interresting tips:

Reminder: If you recently had covid, the recommen-
dation is that you not exercise for at least 6-8
weeks--even if your symptoms were mild--to not
put more stress on your body, which could lead
to Long COVID. Conserve your energy as much as you can.

Hi,

Could be fun when Trump becomes president in
the 2024 United States presidential election,
and when there is 2nd Pandemic that same year.

Anybody remember this:

It’s been exactly one year since Trump suggested injecting bleach.

Hi,

An Covid erkrankt: Biden unterbricht Wahlkampf
https://www.tagesanzeiger.ch/joe-biden-erkrankt-an-covid-waehrend-der-druck-auf-ihn-waechst-702375704722

Just some fancy campaign scripting?
https://9gag.com/gag/ayN8dKX

Shit: I still wonder whether my "seventh sense" was
correct, when something hit me a few weeks ago,
and I thought that there WILL BE a new pandemic (*).

It is not that I want to be RIGHT, its just a kind of
suspense and curriousity just now, whether the
judgement my fucking unconsciousness produced,

turns out to be true or not? Whats your bet?

Bye

(*) The idea of a new pandemic is also founded on
historic data, such as Spanische Grippe which had
a 1st wave, a 2nd wave and a 3rd wave.

Hi,

Here a description of what hit me:

- Attacks through the eye. I first
got a conjunctivitis, on the right eye,
and two hours later on the left eye.

- messes with your brain and sleep
rhythm, was suddently wide awake at
04:00 o'clock, and when I tried to sleep,
   no chance, chasing nonsense thoughts.

- dehydrates you, turns your nuts into
little peanuts, and you become an
Eunuch for a few days. Skin irritation,
inflamed regions on the leg and below nose.

- heavy nasal flow, but luckily no lung problems,
   not like these poor fellas:

Hi,

Why is nobody calling me "shut up", whats
your data, where is the new Covid wave.
You are just halucinating some butterfly
effect, which will never happen and cause

a new explosion. But then you can try just this:

Results:

Todoay, the virus that hit me, was
playing cat and mouse with me. First
my ear was tickling, then it stopped,

then my head for an hour, then it stopped,
and so on. So I am very sympathetic with
the idea of post-covid.

The BAG updated its page recently:

Information on post COVID-19 condition
https://www.bag.admin.ch/bag/en/home/strategie-und-politik/nationale-gesundheitsstrategien/post-covid-19-erkrankung/informationen-post-covid-19-erkrankung.html

Mostlikely other countries have also such
information and corresponding services.
So before you visit the village witch,

and start eating some poison, maybe check
some of these services, to separate post-covid
from other health problems.

Hi,

Forget climate change because of overpopulation, air
polution and some green house effect. It will not
happen. We will decimate ourself through polution

and viruses, because crowds of people are not sustainable:

Trying to break a world record of the largest hot pot?

There is possibly an inherent carrying capacity
factor somewhere in nature? The specific reason
why a population stops growing is known as a

limiting or regulating factor:

Thus, the carrying capacity is the maximum
number of individuals of a species that an
environment can support in long run.

Hi,

I actually wanted to write an e-mail first
on the subject of "The secret life of viruses",
with answers to questions such as "who, where

and when was the virus concept developed and
based on which examples" (*) and how do you
have to imagine a longer body stay of viruses.

Now I have found an interesting but somewhat
short article that essentially attributes
brain modification to the fact that SARS-Cov2

causes a special immune response. Which then
also affects the brain.

See e.g.:

 > COVID-19's neurological effects linked
 > to immune response, not direct viral attack
https://www.news-medical.net/news/20240221/COVID-19s-neurological-effects-linked-to-immune-response-not-direct-viral-attack.aspx

I can confirm that I have such an immune
response. I have had very strong neurological
effects over the last few days. I don't know

exactly how to describe it. Sleep rhythm disorders
are the easiest to describe. The whole immune
response is still difficult to get under control,

there are a few home remedies that I have tried:

- Sleep rhythm disorders:
drinking a glass of milk in the evening,
   it didn't really help
- Hot flashes:
Did nothing about it, just changed a
   sweaty T-shirt
- Asthma Attack:
   Ricola candies helped.
- Allergic Shock Irritable Stomach:
   Eggnog from the Coop helped.
- The other neurological effects:
Eggnog also helped, alcohol is a narcotic

LoL

Bye

(*) The standard story is:

The term virus was first used by Cornelius
Aulus Celsus in the 1st century BC. He
described the saliva through which

rabies was transmitted as poisonous.
In 1882, during experiments with
tobacco mosaic disease, Adolf Mayer

unknowingly carried out viral pathogen
transmission for the first time by
transferring the plant sap from

infected plants to healthy plants,
thereby also triggering the disease.

Hi,

Hallelujah, I waited 5 years, to only feel completely wasted:
Amid this ever-more-infectious backdrop, the number of people
who have never had COVID-19 — the “Novids” — is dwindling.

“The proportion of ‘Novids’ is getting smaller and smaller,” Chin-
Hong said. “I’ve heard so many stories in the last few weeks of
people who didn’t get any [COVID illness] until this point, now

in our fifth year” since COVID emerged. But merely entering a
“stable or uncertain” status doesn’t necessarily mean COVID
will start trending downward. Scientists will need more weeks of

data to see whether the wave has peaked or is just in a temporary lull.
In only two states did the CDC estimate that COVID-19 was likely
declining: Hawaii and Nevada. Besides California, the states

labeled as being on a stable or uncertain COVID trajectory
were Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Maine and Pennsylvania.
COVID-19 was estimated to be growing or likely growing in

34 states, as well as the District of Columbia. No estimates
were available for seven states.

Hi,

While the greek came to the conclusion “I know that I
know nothing”. The conclusion of most people nowadays
is simply “I know nothing”.

The main challenge our society is currently facing is
probably long-covid. Many had covid and this can impact
the central nervous system indirectly, because of

the body immune response. So we might see many people,
family members, friends, colaborators, sponsors, etc… that
have basically turned into cognitive vegetables not

100% functioning anymore. Covid is basically brought
us one step closer to the distopia as portayed in the
comedy idiocracy.

Hi,

Soon, there will be more reports by the hour.

Here a recent example:

- San Diego sustains significant rise in COVID-19
cases, with positivity rates surpassing 14%.
- SDCC attendees, including creators, isolate in
hotels after testing positive for COVID-19.
- Mask activist Nickelpin distributes masks and
reports increased mask usage at this year’s convention.
- Fantagraphics' Eric Reynolds misses SDCC events,
isolates in hotel, highlighting COVID-19 risk.

Hi,

During the early covid pandemic a macabre pass
time was to calibrate the SIR-model and try to
make predictions:

susceptible-infected-removed model
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/SIR-Modell

But hey, when do you have the chance to work
with real data! But now with Long-Covid, what
would we measure? What is the "removed" state

in Long-Covid. Freed from regular work?

Hi,

The intersting thimg about SIR-Models they
can be used to detect an epidemic:

With the help of the SIR model, we can
determine for given initial values I_0,S_0,\beta ,
\gamma whether the course of the disease will
result in an epidemic.
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/SIR-Modell#Mathematische_Behandlung

Maybe we should look at Covid, and not Long-Covid.
But modelling of Long-Covid would be also intersting.

Currently I am reading:

 > California’s COVID-19 test positivity rate has surpassed
last summer’s peak, largely fueled by the FLiRT variants,
particularly KP.3.1.1. The rapid spread of these strains
suggests a likely rise in cases in the weeks ahead.
