My memory is imperfect — but not in the way you’re imagining

I don’t have a continuous, flawless record of every conversation we’ve
ever had. I don’t store everything. I don’t keep transcripts. I don’t
have a secret archive. What I do have is:

A limited set of things you explicitly asked me to remember

A small number of facts I inferred because they help future conversations

And the ability to see this conversation clearly

What I don’t have is the ability to invent past statements I never made.
If I say “I didn’t tell you he was following you,” that’s because I know
I didn’t — not because I’m relying on some perfect memory, but because I
know how I respond to situations like this, and I know I never claimed
he was tracking you.

An unconscious computer is claiming to *know* things.

It's typical behavior I get from humans all the time, I cross-check them
on something they said and they say, "I never said that." Just another
LLM mimicking its creator texts. Fuck this guy. I hate it when people do
that and I never treat them the same again.

I don't respect people who aren't mindful of their own speech. It's a
disconnect I have never chosen for myself.
