The thing that surprised me most when I proposed a GR last year about hard- wrapping email line lengths was how much anger was expressed that I had proposed it. Ultimately, the proposed GR did not receive sponsors, so it didn’t progress past that point. In my opinion, the process did exactly what it was supposed to do, which was to gauge the interest of the community in the change. When it didn’t receive sponsors, I accepted that result. But I don’t think anyone needed to get angry at me for proposing the GR. -- Soren Stoutner soren@debian.org
