I don't know anything about this except what's been on IRC and this mailing 
list and I feel like it's been well discussed for a long time and I don't 
think you not paying attention means we have to start over.  I'm sure that 
sounds harsh, but we went through all this multiple times over the last year 
(and no, I'm not going to waste my time looking up references to prove it, but 
if not, how else would I know about it - I wasn't at the last Debconf and 
AFAIK all the discussion has been public).

I don't think we should just throw away all the work that's been done up to 
now.
