It's just a practice for seeking reviews. You will soon found it's not
hard and convince for you and reviewers.

To do that. Just create a merge-request-queue(or whatever you name it)
branch and then do thing you want, eg: import new upstream release in
the new branch.
And then you may found it's useful as you can amend/rebase any of your
commits while you got comments from reviews before it has been merged.

I am also doing merge requests and request for team review and amend changes.
