A reviewer has shared a note regarding glew 2.3.1-7: As I looked deeper into the messsage about used licenses: UNKNOWN (not in DFSG license database): Glide (manually verify DFSG compatibility) KHRONOS (manually verify DFSG compatibility) Mesa (manually verify DFSG compatibility) Result: ATTENTION REQUIRED - 3 unrecognized license(s) require manual review and the license "Glide" I found that this lisens isn't DFSG compatible. The reasons are: Section 2.3 of the license conflicts with DFSG Section 6 By limiting the scope of the license to a specific technical purpose (performs 3D graphics API operations), it prevents the code from being used freely for other purposes (e.g., general-purpose computing or non-graphics related math). Free software must allow the user to use the code for any purpose. and Section 3.3 of the license conflicts with DFSG Section 1 DFSG Section 1 requires that a license shall not restrict any party from selling or giving away the software. By creating different rules for commercial vs. non-commercial entities, the license fails this test. The other two licenses (Khronos and Mesa are variants of the MIT license. -- Mechtilde Stehmann Full review details: https://dfsg-new-queue.debian.org/reviews/glew
