Und über die Ursache sind sich ausnahmsweise mal alle einig (Gewissenberuhigung): Nicht das Rauchen, sondern Asbest, womit ich vor ~ 50 Jahren mal zu tun hatte (nein, nur ab und zu an den Leuten vorbeigegangen bin, die damit zu tun hatten. Hier:

Der "musste" ja nun abgerissen werden - ha, ha, da müssten sie im Westen aber noch ganz andere Gebäude abreißen. Nee, nee, das war eine rein politisch-ideologische Aktion: Der "Kommunistenkasten" musste weg! Auch wenn's eine architektonische und technische Meisterleistung war.

Hab' mir zu DDR-Zeiten mal ein Buch geleistet (Ahnert/Reichart "Grundlagen der Beschallungstechnik") - nun, die "Grundlagen" waren Formeln, die manchmal über einige Zeilen gingen. ;) Aber der Anhang war interessant - zwei praktische Beispiele: Die Anlage im großen Saal eben des Palastes und die im ICC in Westberlin. Verblüffende Ähnlichkeiten. ;)

Prinzip: Mehrere im Saal ("unsichtbar", versteht sich) verteilte Lautsprechergruppen mit den entsprechenden Amps dahinter, die Zuordnung der Signalintensitäten und -laufzeiten zu den einzelnen Gruppen macht ein Prozessrechner in Echtzeit. Und sollte mal ein Amp ausfallen, wird automatisch auf einen (als heiße Redundanz bereitstehenden) umgeschaltet (knackfrei, versteht sich).

Und die Ansicht der Autoren ist auch nicht von der Hand zu weisen: "Eine gute Beschallungsanlage zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass der uneingeweihte Zuhörer von ihrer Existenz gar nichts merkt, sondern die gute Verständlichkeit an seinem Platz allein den agierenden Künstlern und der guten Raumakustik zuschreibt." (Das allen "Technikern" ins Stammbuch, die nichts weiter können als ihre PA-Anlage auf- und abbauen und die Ausgangsleistung in kW messen.) ;)
