Ich kenne Kabelscheren die auch nicht viel anders waren.

Ja, das ist kein Seitenschneider sondern ein Frontschneider. Finde ich 
nicht direkt vergleichbar. Im Grunde eine Kneifzange.

Ich habe Seitenschneider; gute wie weniger gute; die ähnlich aussehen 
und immer noch funktionieren. Einige sind inzwischen (Grybel) etwa 40 
Jahre alt.

Weil es bei solchen Litzen darauf ankommt das die Schneiden scharf sind, 
der Schneidwinkel ideal 90° ist und die Führung und Materialhärte so ist 
das sich die Schneiden nicht voneinander entfernen wenn man sie 
schließt. Dann klappt's auch mit dem Bowdenzug. Sonst knickt man den nur 
um und das macht es nicht einfacher.

Das sage ich dir mit meiner Erfahrung als Elektroinstallateur und der 
Beruflichen Praxis, u.a. einige Jahre im Reparieren von Fahrrädern im 
Verleih.

Bei Dünnen Drähten? Eine jede Aufgabe verdient das richtige Werkzeug.

Schaltwerk? Du meinst ein Rad mit Kettenschaltung. Und dort den vorderen 
oder hinteren Umwerfer? Es gibt Quetschhülsen die man auf das Ende setzt 
um genau dies auftroddeln und Verletzungen zu verhindern. Nur ein Tip.

Selber! :-) Schließlich hast du angefangen, kannst es mir also auch 
nicht übel nehmen.

Immerhin fand ich den Gedanken naheliegend, bei dem auftritt im OP.
