Job Description
===============

As part of our development team in Leipzig you will:

* maintain and extend our existing submission and streaming applications
* cooperate with the product management to design and implement new features
* deploy online and set up onsite installations
* do research on new technologies, e.g. better video codecs or Virtual Reality

We value code reviews, good coding style, keeping a high test coverage and automation.

Restrictions
============

* Presence in Leipzig is required, at least during the first months

Requirements
============

* You enjoy working in a team.
* You have +3 years experience in software development.
* You have experience in implementing medium to large scalable systems with Python and Django.
* You have experience with frontend technologies like HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
* You have experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL databases.
* You have practical experience in writing unit tests and documentation.
* You are using Git as a daily tool.
* You have experience on working with agile techniques and issue trackers.
* You communicate well in English.

We'd like it if you had this:

* Experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
* Familiarity with ES6 and Single Page Applications.
* Experience with AWS and Heroku.
* Experience with Docker.
* Experience on working with Linux (Ubuntu) on server and desktop.
* Server hardware, networking and monitoring knowledge.
* Experience in video encoding.
* Experience with internationalization.

About the Company

PicturePipe is a small-sized enterprise working in the video on demand industry. We have offices in Berlin, Leipzig and Cologne.

Our main products are the PicturePipe API, which is built to process film submissions, encode the films and stream them. As a counterpart we offer Online and Onsite Video Libraries as well as Award Platforms. Furthermore we run a separate Film Submission Platform.
