Trouble with OS 10.11.3 update

Running 10.11.2 on a MacBook Pro.  I tried to update to 10.11.3, and when it
rebooted, it said the update couldn't be verified and to try again.  After
multiple retries, I get the same report, and stay at 10.11.2.

Is there be something I can delete to force a completely clean reload.  Or
maybe there is a problem at the App Store end?  Any suggstions?
