Ha! I'm a past master at doing it, Snit! I love to experiment, simply to 
find out answers. 🙂

Just for a moment suppose ..... that some naive Mac user visits the ASC 
forums and asks for advice.

Just suppose that they are 'invited' to download and run software which 
has not been vetted by the Apple App Store.

Just suppose that it is later suggested that they then re-install their
macOS, which they proceed to do (without first erasing their hard drive)

Everything should then simply 'work' - and it will!

What about malicious code installed at the time as using the unapproved 
software? THAT is left untouched on the machine - a hidden backdoor.

Any thoughts on this possible scenario?
