The installer deletes the disk image during installation. So you need a
pristine (never used) copy of the installer package.

Not that I know of. You'll need to re-download the installer from the App
Store. I archive zipped copies of my installers in case I need them later.

I think for 10.6 you're stuck with using the DVD, or a disk image of the
DVD (which is what I typically use).
