I just upgraded my 13" MacBook Air (early 2014) to Sierra after backing
up to my external drive. Upgrade went smoothly with no hiccups. The
only two apps that I have that are loaded at startup, and appear in the
menu bar are 1Password and FitBit Connect. Those needed to be upgraded
and that was all. All my other apps and goodies work just fine. I don't
use iCloud for anything other than Find My Mac. Siri is enabled but I
haven't played with her yet.

The main question is startup. It seems to take a bit longer to startup
than it did with Yosemite. Not a big deal but every so often, the
startup will progress about half way, hesitate for a split second, the
keyboard lights up, then a very brief flash of the Sierra desktop (like
about 1 second) appears and then startup finishes. Why the brief
hesitation and why the split second view of the Sierra splash screen?

Emptying trash. There used to be an option for Secure Erase when
emptying the trash. Now it's just delete and gone. Is Secure Erase now
incorporated into emptying the trash?

Disk Utility. Verify/Repair disk permissions is gone. Or is it now part
of FirstAid? Was it even necessary?

Deja Moo: I've seen this bullshit before.
