I would just erase the disk in Disk Utility before bringing it in.
Erasing the data make it impossible to get without very expensive
forensic disk tools. Done deal. Apple's not going to send the drive to
an expensive data recovery service to try to hack out the data that was
erased. Apple doesn't want your data.
