Here's the link for the 802.11B drivers for OSX. It does work on Leopard,
at least on a PPC. (there is a comment about using the driver on leopard 
in the middle of the page).

Note that an original Apple Airport base station, the one that is grey,
looks like a Hershey's kiss or flying saucer, and has one ethernet port
(and a 56k modem port) has an Orinoco card inside it. 

You can open the unit up, and under the cover is one in a socket. It just 
pops out and can be used in a laptop.
