The standard fix seems to be using the PCMCIA slot and I think Here's what I know: The original Orinco Wavelan chipset PCMCIA cards are supported as an Airport card in OS9 with the last version of Airport software. In fact it will convert a Silver card to a Gold one (64 bit WEP versus 128 bit WEP) the fist time you use it. It does not tell you it is doing so nor ask. :-) From what I can remember, it was included in OS 9.2, you can download it for 9.0 or 9.1. They are NOT supported under OSX. You can buy a driver for 10.0-10.4 (PPC) that does work. It's around $20. You can download it for free and try it. If it works for you can can buy a magic number which unlocks it for the card. The free trial requires you to disconenct after 5 minutes of use. The license moves with the card, so if you replace the card, you need a new key, but you can install the software on as many computers as you like and move the card between them. Note that these cards are 802.11B and that the name Orinoco was sold several times and the current owner has re-used the name for incompatble cards. The 802.11G BROADCOM chipset cards are supported in OSX 10.4.8 and up (PPC) as airport cards. Note that you can't do a fresh install of OS X 10.4 and use the card, you have to do the install, download the 10.4.8 or later combined update using another connection or computer and install it. These cards are NOT supported under OS9. Geoff. -- Geoffrey S. Mendelson N3OWJ/4X1GM Making your enemy reliant on software you support is the best revenge.
