SubjectiTunes' iPhones' options resetted after upgrading Mac OS v10.8.5 to v10.12.4?
Message-ID<Ho-dnXlV-_l-fXzFnZ2dnUU7-YnNnZ2d@earthlink.com>
Is it me or does iTunes' settings (calendar, contacts, etc.) get
resetted after upgrading from updated Mac OS X/Mountain Lion v10.8.5 to
mac OS Sierra v10.12.4? I noticed this with two different standard
accounts and iPhone 6+s.

Thank you in advance. :)

You mean "get reset". There is no such word as "resettled".

A major upgrade of any mainstream operating system or application may
result in settings changes.

Ah, I never use those. ;)

That's silly, IMHO, because the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks. If
I had to put an estimate on it, I'd say auto correct features get 95% of
corrections right (possibly even higher than that), and only around 5%
wrong. I'll take that very small percentage of bad with the larger
percentage of good, personally.

Do use automatic Dictionary correction on Mac but do on my iPhone
I've been lucky though I've only had one or two minor issues where
substituted words were un appropriate. And even those were not r or x
rated.

Uh, I said resetted and not resettled.

Yes, I realize that. "Resetted" is still not a word. What you meant to
say is "iTunes settings get reset".

Your surprise and displeasure is unwarranted considering this is the
case across all major platforms. This is not Mac- or Apple-specific.
Major upgrades from very old versions of software often result in some
settings being reset, often due to underlying architectural changes in
the software. No software is bug-free. That's just a fact of life in
computing. Suck it up, buttercup. ; )

There may be as many as 500 people in the world updating their main
machine from 10.8 to 10.12.

You are unlikely to find another one.
