It IS an "older model". Just not enough older. I would "up"grade if I
could find a program with the capability of my old ones. So far every
suggestion has been for something with half that capability.

I seriously doubt that.

Learning curve or no learning curve, the programs I have looked at or tried
so far will only edit one foto. Using Pages to make actual pages with
several of these and text of my choice is much more work for an inferior
product than I can produce with my current single program.

Well OS X 10.6 runs in virtualisation. So she could have got her nice
new Mac with plenty of speed and RAM to run the older OS as a virtual
machine and run the old software inside it. One can do this with the
free VirtualBox, so it would have cost her nothing.

The point is you are hijacking a thread that was not about "the point"
of El Cap in which someone mentioned a cool feature and are pretending
that was an exhaustive list of ElCap features.

<http://www.apple.com/osx/elcapitan-preview/>

BTW, that's not en exhaustive list either.

Did not see one iMac in this whole presentation! Looks like they are
pitching strictly to laptops/tablets for swiping. I thought that they
had iOS for that.
