A minute or so after successfully getting a link to the Apple site from 
App Store (it opened the page in Chrome), I got a drop down error in App 
Store saying it was having connection issues.

https://www.apple.com/ca/support/systemstatus/ was all green at the 
time. (1 minute before this posting).
