I personally like this book for two main reasons:

1. David wrote it.
2. It was the first new book on the Apple II in a very long time.

If I was to recommend a single book on the Apple II it would be Stepen 
Weyrich's book "Sophistication and Simplicity". I also think that Stephen 
could have done more, but recently loaned my copy to a young but very smart 
young man because for where he is at right now, Stephen's book is perfect.

However, I cherish David's book more than Stepen's because it reminds me of 
the style of the original Apple II User's guide.

Neither of these books is really useful to me. The csa2 FAQs are the most 
useful "book" that I have on the Apple II.

In the 80's I collected computer books, and read each one cover to cover, 
eagerly awaiting the next month's bunch of books from my computer book club.

Times have changed. I haven't given "a fig" about computer books for years, 
but I still remember that if I got a good day or two read from a book, and I 
learned a thing or two, it was a good computer book. Many weren't.

Honestly I would recommend any computer book written today for the Apple II 
simply for the reason that such crap was published as computer books in the 
past and we still enjoyed them and found them useful. Today's books are 
better written and have the benefit of hind-sight.

Those were the best of times, those were the worst of times...

Among other writing endeavors, I got back into writing newspaper articles 
for our local papers on business issues. The support ranged from bi-polar to 
the oppiste on both sides. At the end of the day it was just fun to get my 
stories out there.

The best book ever written was not on the Apple II.
