It is OK.

Like I said in my review the "magic" of the Apple was trying small programs and seeing all the neat effects they produced, then wondering how the heck the darn thing worked.  Some of the BEST examples were the classic TWO-LINERS.

Silicon Salad's CHUGGACHUGGA is a the perfect example.

From a beginners POV, learning should be _FUN_.  A correct small program _inspires_ people to play more. I didn't find the programs all that inspiring.  This book takes half of the fun out of it, and ignores the _rich history_.

So no, I can't wholely recommend it.

"The Elementary Apple" is written in a far more laid-back style then this one.  I actually dug up my copy of that while I was writing my review just to make sure I wasn't falling to some "rose-tinted glasses skewed view of memory."

I really hope there is a version 2 where the "spirit of the Apple" is captured in the book.  If/when that happens, then I'll definitely praise it.
