Minor bug with length=0, length+1>0.  I had to change to:

ldx length+1      ; full pages
ldy length        ; partial page ?
beq :4            ; b: no
inx

If not the :6 dex bne :3 code bumps up the pointers when they were not 
decremented in the first place.  Otherwise everything else is perfect.
