i CAN'T find docs anywhere so I'm piecing instructions together as I go.

ED has O)pen command.  You can open/close a file.  I haven't figured it out yet.

I put the music data into 37 seperate files , named:

mariopt1 to mariopt37

In notepad I typed up some keypresses to feed to ED:

ZY
LMARIOPT1
LMARIOPT2
LMARIOPT3
LMARIOPT4

LMARIOPT5
LMARIOPT6
LMARIOPT7
LMARIOPT8

So this tells ED:
Zap, YES
L)oad MARIOPT1 to MARIOPT8

go into the W)rite music editor, and 
press Shift-Insert using AppleWin.  ED
loads all 37 files without me having to
type the filenames, and You can rearrange
sequences quickly in Notepad.
