With regard to the RiscPC - With Simtec IDEFS interface.

The CD drive(s) should be connected directly to the ADFS (Hard Disc)
connector on the Main PCB. Do not connect to the Simtec board.

The first or only CD drive should be set
to Master and any second drive to Slave, using the small jumpers,
normally found near the cable connectors of the drives.
There is NO CD function via the Simtec IDE Interface which operates as
the IDEFS system and offers connections to up to Four Hard Discs.

Configure the Computer for n CDROM Drives, 0 IDE Hard Discs, and
FileSystem to IDEFS.

I have no experience of the Iyonix but if the Hard Disc and the CD
share the same data cable then I believe that the Hard disc should be
linked as Master and the CDRom set as Slave. (May be wrong there !)
