Neither the RiscPC that I am trying to update nor my Iyonix will
recognize their CD drives.
My Iyonix (5.18), as soon as I click on the CD on the iconbar, says:
Message from CDFS filer:
CD-ROM drive not found
The drive has its data and power cables connected correctly to sockets
on the motherboard. When I put a disc in the drive, its green LED
flashes briefly as if to acknowledge it. In "Configure > Discs", one
CD drive is set.
The customer's RiscPC (4.02) has two CD drives; "Configure > Discs" is
set accordingly. They are connected to a Simtec 16-bit IDE interface
in podule slot 3. Their LEDs responded when I put a disc in each
drive. Click on either drive on the iconbar, and the hourglass runs
for a good minute; eventually the same error message comes up.
What am I overlooking? Any advice, please?
