I'd have been happy with that, my old red sporty contraption would have
used about 0.94 gallons to feed its twin 9000 rpm rotors. But I needed
something with more comfort than insane handling these days, so it had
to go and I've now got a far more economical 5.5 litre V8 bi-turbo. As
long as that 17 miles is on the motorway I could use as little as 0.6 of
a gallon, otherwise that might just about get it off the driveway in the
morning.

Oh, my commiserations.

More like £1.25 on my tariff, but I'm happy paying under a fiver for the
exquisite auditory accompaniment to the journey, while gliding on a
cushion of air and leather. And of course you can't turn up at the
British Motoring Museum without paying homage to a classic form of the
internal combustion engine by bringing your own hand built example.
