The zip file should not have problems, even in DOS, as long as its 
name follows the 8.3 convention.

As to why the drive isn't being enabled - could it have died?  They 
don't last for ever. 

Another possibility if your motherboard has an IDE header is to use an
IDE CDRW drive.  That would need ASPIROUT.SYS and the Dani drivers but
should work and would do what you want.
