And, here I thought I was the only one who had made the mistake
of pouring ferrous chloride PC board etching solution into an
aluminum pan!

In my case, I think I was around age 14-16.  Once I saw the
reaction and figured out what would happen to the aluminum pan, I
was able to pick up what was left and put it into a nearby
plastic trash can without getting too much solution on the
carpet.  However, my parents were not exactly thrilled with what
the remaining solution did to the bottom of the galvanized steel
garbage can in the back yard shed.  :-(
