  I have an HP soho printer. it is on 24x7 in sleep mode. Occasionally 
it wakes up to self calibrate or I print a page.

But as time goes by more and more people are able to receive PDFS rather 
than paper &
TBH I often print stuff out as a substitute for a second monitor, but 
that;s a rare use case
