I recently went for the Brother DCP-9010CN and I would highly recommend 
it.  I've tested both the scanning and printing and they both work great.

The only niggle I had was during installation where although the printer 
was found and installed, I needed to hard code it's IP address before it 
worked correctly.  To be fair I didn't spend too long on this, so it may 
well have been possible to fix it some other way. (Installed into 
Slackware 13.37).
