That is a kernel from many, many years ago.  Quite possibly something in
your newer hardware tickles a bug which was not visible on older
systems.

Of course you can boot or you would not install otherwise.  Boot into
a "single user mode" and/or from a rescue media and investigate.
If you do not care about audio you may just turn it off by blacklisting
what you have to in a modprobe configuration and rebuilding initrd after
that.  A saner and posibly simpler solution would be to use something
newer for your distro.
