Sorry, why? Kenny said some Linux apps install themselves in a Windows 
manner, so it is possible. And people can create a Linux-like file 
structure in Windows if they are that desperate to distribute the 
elements of their applications as far and wide as possible.

Wrong analogy. Driving on the left or right are just different-handed 
ways of doing the same thing.

A more apt one is to split the party up so each is driving their own 
car, and with a different start point and destination!

Suppose I manage to put all my support files directly into an executable 
as accessible data; then what? I'm now effectively running my app just 
like Windows does, from the same path. What is going to happen? Probably 
nothing. In that case why is it such a big deal if I split the file into 
two, and access that extra file in the same place as the main executable?
