Oh hi, is that your youtube account?
If so, you may want to explain, why you deleted my comments, insulted me
and banned me from writing further comments and failed to provide a
proper reason for any of these actions when asked via PM?

So I must be a wizard?

Of course you want the gnome-system-monitor to be always open because you
_know_ that this is a very ressource consuming tool. Yes, this needs
fixing. But it will eat CPU time much needed for benchmarks.

I was going to write some further comments but if you really are the same
person I wouldn't get serious answes anyway so I just let it go.

64-bit Debian.

Huh? I said negative things about the 64 bit SW because it was
crap. Stuck with and was happy with 32 bit. Meanwhile "advocates" lied
through their teeth pretending it (64bit) "all just worked". It didn't
then and it doesn't now for many.
Grow up you whining little apologist.

We had some power dropouts night before last. Prior to that it was
around 85 days, which was the last time we lost power long enough to
kill it.

Cripes! It did it again!

I'm going to have to look into this. I'm not going to give up slrn, but
Imight have to look into another way of using it (currently via a ssh
tunnel) until I get this sorted.

If it _is_ a ssh tunnel why call it otherwise?

I use one too...

ssh marvin.informatik.uni-stuttgart.de -L 1119:news.informatik.uni-
stuttgart.de:119 -N

You snipped relevant material.

You make my point exactly.

Its like saying "I drive my car, using the accelator, to go to work".

Its affectation and mostly used wrong in this ng.

Before you say any more I use ssh all day and evey day not least with
rsync, tmux and git. I dont specifially set up multi port "tunnels" (in
the true sense) although I have done.

Its like the recent fad to wax lyrical bout sweety pie Puppy. LOL! Did
Koehlmann get another slap down on that one!

Indeed. I don't use ssh as a tunnel, but as a secure shell.

Therefore I don't use the phrase "ssh tunnel", and thus am not
subject to abuse from the nancy-boy net-nanny troll. :-D

Maybe you /should/ use a ssh tunnel. You could join the Ssh Tunnel Club
then. That's where we sit around running ssh tunnels in defiance of
Rhonda Queef. And we say 'ssh tunnel' a lot. Because we can.

I use a ssh tunnel regularly. I like ssh tunnels. Ssh tunnels are
something I think everbody should try at least once before they die.
Except Quack. He shouldn't use ssh tunnels for anything. He should just
drink and die in his vomit. Without every experiencing the joys of a
ssh tunnel.
