Obviously Excel is using a different allocation strategy. SC allocates
for pointers for every cell in the range bounded by A0 and the outermost
vertex cell. So the question becomes, if Excel doesn't even allocate
pointers for those cells, do *they* even exist? I'm going to dedicate
a 1TB usb drive for swap and give it a test run under sc using Excel's
approximate row/column limits. A nearly empty file should come in
at under 150 GB even assuming some reserve allocation.
