The secret if you think it may be a spam call is to pick up the handset and keep quiet. If it is a spam test call it will be dropped after about 3-4 seconds. If you speak it will either play you a recorded message or put you through to 'Kevin from Microsoft' usually in a very heavy Asian accent.
