They have to be that fast.  Otherwise, those scenes where the teenaged
hacker (or NSA whistle-blower) is downloading the CIA, intercut with
hundreds of SWAT guys (or heavily armed terrorists) racing toward them
by land and air, wouldn't come out the right way.
