It doesn't work as well here as elsewhere, though, because message-ids
get rewritten by the usenet gateway, so the IDs referenced in people's
headers differ depending on whether they're replying via usenet or the
mailing list or gmane.  Threads already get mangled enough by this even
when the subject stays the same.
