I can semi-help in a recursive way.

Since Clark created three parsers - sgmls, nsgmls
and SP - I think we can conclude that NSGMLS
is "New" SGMLS. Personally, I would guess at "Scanner"
for trailing 'S', and SGML is "obvious"
