If you're a Java developer, you have plenty of reason to have multiple
versions of Java around. There is no reason to have anything but the latest
of a minor version, as markspace correctly advises. That would be the number
after the "u" or the "_" in the version identification, as in JDK 6u24 or Java
version 1.6.0_24. Major versions are another matter. Many clients still
target Java 5, for all that it's obsolete, so you might need it. Oracle is
not the only purveyor of Java, so you might have versions from OpenJDK or IBM.
You might have Java 7 (early access).

Failing to keep up with the minor versions is a security hazard. Don't fail.

Do delete any versions not of use to you.
