That's what I assumed.

1.  Go ahead and remove Java 5.  It's old, as a user you shouldn't need 
it.  If it turns out you do, just reinstall again.

2. Seriously consider a virus/malware scan.

3. Despite claiming to update Java when prompted, your updates are 
months out of date.  Something is wrong here.  See #2 above.
