20Kb might be pushing things a bit. Synth uses bitmapped images to 
determine the look of things like button borders and such, so with that, 
plus the XML, plus any custom painting classes, you might be more like 
80-100Kb. But that could include a few variations.

I wonder whether Substance allows the developer to strip out some of the 
themes and skins for distribution? 1.17MB certainly does sound - well 
"substantial". But I wouldn't dream of abusing it. <g>

For now, I'm still leaning toward Synth. Especially since, as part of 
the standard API, I can probably be a bit more confident of its future. 
But thanks, Tim, for pointing out Substance. If anybody else has some 
favourites, either free or commercial, I'm happy to look.
