This is a distortion of what I said. C is the "god language". There is no need to prove it. All modern languages are derived from it and all languages have been implemented using it. I don't ever recall specifically using the words "toy language" to describe Forth, although I might have since Forth is so limited in many ways as compared to C. > 3.) I think the most common reason why people write a Forth in C, be it a compiler or interpreter, is because C was very popular, widely implemented, and portable. Assembly isn't portable. Forth code is portable, but requires the availability of a Forth compiler or interpreter, which aren't widely available. Rod Pemberton
