Yes, ROLL with a dynamically computed index would be such a use, but I
have never seen that. However, GET-CONTEXT SET-CONTEXT use the stack
as array and have been standardized. N>R NR> also do that, and IIRC
you are in favour of them.

Returning multiple values on the stack is one of the features of
Forth. Does /MOD use the stack as a struct? Maybe, but if so, it's
certainly better than the altenative of going through memory, which
you seem to suggest as being more appropriate.
Likewise for MIN-MAX-SUM. And for something similar with even more
cells: Sure, at some point it may be better to return the results in a
struct in memory. But that does not mean we have to compute them
there. We have two understandable ways of computing them on the
stack, we can store them to memory afterwards.

If you need the speed, it certainly is (and if not, computing each
value in a separate loop appears best to me). People even program in
assembly language because of speed.
