No, if I understand the description of the x86 instructions correctly,
there's a big difference.
BSF and BSR are "Bit Scan Forward" and "Bit Scan Reverse", respectively.
BSF scans the source operand for the least significant 1 bit and stores
its index in the destination. If there is no 1 bit in the source
operand value, the ZF flag is set and the value stored in the
destination is undefined. As far as I can tell, no other side effects
are permitted to occur (assuming the source is valid). The destination
will contain *some* bit pattern; it's just not specified what that bit
pattern will be.
In C, "undefined behavior" means that the standard places no
requirements on the behavior, not just that some value is undefined.
For example, signed integer overflow might wrap around, it might
saturate, it might terminate your program, or it might melt your CPU
(the latter is unlikely but is permitted by the standard).
