If you had said that in the first place, I would have had no
objection.
But you said "C and C++ are completely different languages", which
is simply not true. Calling them "completely different language" *is*
ignoring their commonalities.
No doubt you knew what you meant, but I don't think that meaning was
correctly expressed by your words.
