But this command installs the maven version 3.6.0, whereas the latest version for maven in the apache maven web-site is 3.8.1. Any suggestions on how to install maven 3.8.1 via apt install command or any else ways?

Exporting the M2_HOME environment variable is no longer required if you're using Maven 3. The important thing is to have the /bin directory of you maven installation added to the PATH environment variable.


but it will download maven and then install it.. Since I may need to install maven on a few systems downloading it each time won't be a better option for us. So I am looking forward answer for two questions


On the Maven settings page, in the Maven home path field, specify the location of the Maven custom version installation. For the Maven wrapper, select the use Maven wrapper option from the list. In this case the version of Maven defined in the .mvn/wrapper/maven-wrapper.properties file will be used.
