I pity you lot who are stuck with buying your lamb and use electricity to cook that lamb :) I raise and butcher my own' lamb' and I can dry age it as long as I want (usually 5 days). Then slow cook it in either the wood fired oven or wood combustion oven with herbs and veggies from the garden.

I enjoyed it, everything was from their property beer, pumpkin, potatoes, sweet potatoes, spinach (Silver Beet), beans, fruit trees citrus and plums, nectarines, people came back for 2nds and even 3rds. Christmas puddings were stored in wood shed for 6 months by Grandma, Cream from neighbors cows (TB clear). Everyone had a great time including my parents. The dope came from who knows, I don't smoke, but like my beer. -- Petzl What perfect set of circumstances placed our Sun a Celestial ball of fire at just the correct distance from our little blue planet for life to evolve? You don't put those aldi shanks with sauce in the oven itself, you put them in a ceramic dish that goes in the oven. The lenards stuff does go in a wire rack fine, but not those shanks with sauce, the sauce gets lost if you do it that way.

OK my frypan everything just fits in the frypan Cooked mine (mint and rossemary) last night, Add a fair bit of colemans mint about 2 tablespoons, 1 each shank. Surrounded it with washed spuds ( not peeled) after 30 minutes removed and put spud in 180 oven to roast added peas to gravy For me tasted great. -- Petzl Arguing with a woman is like reading the Software License Agreement. Not fit over so much as sit on. I do have some of those but the right sized ones are as shallow as the ceramic one and the ones that are deep enough are too large. A ceramic one is just more aesthetically appealing, easier to chuck in the dishwasher once its eaten, and since I had at least a dozen more shanks in the freezer to eat and will be buying more of the Aldi ones when they show up, and a ceramic dish of the right size is guaranteed to show up at the garage sales for $2 or so, no rush. > Also a video to show how to open a Fray Bentos Pie tin. > https://youtu.be/U3WKd9L7UBU I use a normal very large manual can opener that has a handle you twist. Works fine.

His problem is that that can opener doesn't cut deeply enough so doesn't cut into the lid. Mine cuts the lid fine.
