It’s the physical presence that requires GST to be charged.

But its certain to happen and charging GST on imports
was due to start on the 1-July so it is hardly surprising
that they started to get people selling on Amazon to
be GST registered etc.

Irrelevant to the law on when GST has to be charged.

GST doesn’t just apply to retail sales.

That’s a different thing, the 'netflix' tax.
