Doesn’t have anything like the same choice of apps
for the phone to allow the more fancy programming.

For example, first thing in the morning, while its still dark even
in summer, I want the system to notice I have got up, fade the
bedroom light up in a second or so so I don’t get dazzled, up
to 100% so I can read the scales, turn the normal house lights
on full so I can walk to the kitchen without breaking my neck
tripping over stuff. Turn the kitchen lights on full so I can do
the basic stuff like toast the great slab of toast that is my only
'breakfast', rinse out the two stubbys or one long neck from
the night before while waiting for the toast to cook. After
a fixed time turn the bedroom light off and the kitchen
lights off. Fade the main seat light back to 80% because
100% is a bit too bright. Then have that fade to off as the
sun comes up. And have another motion /light sensor in
the kitchen which turns the lights on during the day in a
heavily overcast day when it’s a bit dark for doing stuff.

And another motion/light level sensor in the room where
I do the brewing and distilling so there is always the right
level of light in there. And a decent backlight where I
bottle the beer so I can see the level in the stubbys or
long necks when I start bottling before the sun comes up.

Much more convenient to program all that in the best of
the phone apps and to be able to do a 'hey siri, kitchen on'
etc with the lights as I play around setting things up before
I have got any reliable and fast motion sensors/light sensors etc.

I havent actually used a single physical switch since getting
the first of the Hue lights to see how well they work in practice.
Trivial to change the color temp too.
